Fr. Gerrer’s Travels features paintings by Fr. Gregory Gerrer, OSB of his travels around the world.  The viewer can see the world through his eyes from the Bahamas and Cuba to Italy and Europe to Morocco and across the US.  Delaynna Trim, Curator of Collections will give a Gallery Talk as part of a reception on Friday, August 25 at 7pm.  The reception is hosted by the MGMoA Friends and is free and open to the public. Fr. Gerrer’s Travels is open through August 27. 

 

 

In addition to the paintings, there is a Creative Corner for visitors of all ages to create postcards, build their favorite landmark out of foam bricks, read some exciting books on travel, and more.

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is offering free admission through the end of August thanks to the generous donations of the Avedis Foundation, BancFirst, and St. Gregory’s Abbey.  This is a perfect time to escape the heat, and bring the family to enjoy some world class art and activities.

 

 

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is located at 1900 W. MacArthur St. in Shawnee.  The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.  The museum is funded in part by the Avedis Foundation, Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and Allied Arts. For more information contact the museum at 405-878-5300 or www.mgmoa.org.
