https://omhci.org/The Last Chance Showdown is a miniature horse show sponsored by the Oklahoma Miniature Horse Club Inc. (OMHCI) beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day, with an American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR) & Pony show beginning Saturday, August 3, 2024, and an American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) show on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo, 1700 West Independence St., in Shawnee, OK; approximately 3-1/2 miles South on Hwy. 177 from Exit 181 off of I-40.
The AMHR/Pony show on Saturday consists of hunter/jumper and the Liberty class and costume class, halter and showmanship, with driving classes throughout the day.
Sunday morning will continue with more fun events for spectators to watch, beginning the conclusion of the AMHR show and beginning of the AMHA show with obstacle classes - in hand & driving, also more miniature horse in-hand jumping classes, Liberty, showmanship, along with driving, and halter classes throughout the day; concluding with the Supreme Champion class.
Both shows over the 2 days have mare, gelding and stallion halter classes, with different types of driving classes intermingled throughout the day; in youth, amateur and open divisions.
We are having a silent auction to be held with a portion of it closing on Saturday afternoon and the rest closing on Sunday around noon; partial proceeds go to the OMHCI youth fund.
There will also be a drawing for a miniature horse, to be given away on Saturday around noon, during the lunch break. You must be present to win, and make arrangements to take the horse home by Sunday. Tickets for the miniature horse are $20.00 each or 5 tickets for $100; with proceeds benefitting the youth program.
Concession will be available during lunch for both days of the show.
Please join us Saturday and Sunday, August 3 & 4; to see these amazing miniature horses and ponies during these scheduled events. We also welcome those with special needs. The event is FREE and family friendly.
