The family-friendly event will feature Project: Safe Stop, an initiative designed to give autistic drivers and passengers the opportunity to practice safe traffic stops in a controlled, supportive environment. The experience helps individuals and families become more comfortable with what to expect during a traffic stop while creating opportunities to build positive relationships with local law enforcement. 

In addition to Project: Safe Stop, Shawnee Safety Night will offer opportunities for families to connect with community resources, local law enforcement, first responders and other community partners. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local officials, ask questions and learn about resources that can help promote safety and independence for autistic individuals and their families.
