About this Event
SWAN Workshop: SHAPE with Dr. Madeline Rugh
This is the second session of six will have its focus exploring the elements of art as visual language. The language of art is the language of nature; textures, colors, shapes, movements... It is a universal language that honors all people, all ages, and all abilities. SWAN stands for Supporting Wellness through Art and Nature.
SWAN Workshop Second Session Description:
The focus of this workshop will be on "shape". Participants will experience working with the five universal shapes that form the basis for all other kinds of images: the circle, square, triangle, spiral and equidistant cross. Utilizing the writing of anthropologist Angeles Arrien we will explore the cross-cultural significance of the shapes as we form them into a personal amulet made of wire.
